Gay sailing in the Saronics starting from Athens

An one week gay sailing holiday that starts and ends in Athens. This is the one we sail when we have an one week date in our program starting from Athens. An old time favorite. Also an ideal route for groups that want to rent a yacht for a week, with or without skipper. Each island and port in this area has its own distinct Greek character.

Day 1: Starting from Athens you can make a nice sailing voyage to some of the Islands in the Saronic and Argolic gulfs and to some small fishing villages along the coast of the Peloponnisos.
Day 2: The first harbour we usually call at is Epidavros, a small, natural harbour on the Peloponnese. Here you can visit a world famous amphitheater, famous for its wonderful acoustics. If you like to sing, this is your chance.

Day 3: We set sail to the small and picturesque fishing village of Perdika. In the evening you can enjoy a wonderful sunset while having your dinner on the terrace of a local restaurant.

Day 4: The following day we sail to the bay of Poros. There, a white village steps up the hillside. Moored along the quay, you soon notice that this little town has more to offer than taverns and souvenirs. Every morning the horn sounds from the nearby navy barracks. If you are lucky you will see the Greek naval cadets getting off the ferry, returning from their leave.
Day 5: The island of Hydra is an artist's colony. Old merchant houses cover the hills overlooking the harbour and auto traffic is prohibited. Everything is transported from the ships to the houses by mule.
Day 6: Back on the island of Aegina, also known as the pistachio island, we go visit the busy city of Aegina. The harbour of this busy little town is full of activity. Ferries, fishing boats, and yachts come and go. The lively main boulevard is crowded with taverns.
Day 7: From Aegina we sail back to Athens.
Day 8: Flight back home.
