Gay sailing from Athens to Mykonos
A sailing holiday that starts in Athens. On this GaySail trip you can join one or two weeks. The second week we sail from Mykonos back to Athens. Both weeks have a distinct route with different islands and ports.
Let our gay skipper guide you over the Greek seas.
Day 1: Arrival in Athens at the marina, we will show you around the yacht and explain some nautical stuff, the guests will get comfortable in there cabins and we all have diner at the beach. If there is time we will do provisioning on the first day
Day 2: After a relaxed first day of sailing we drop anchor at the feet of the temple of Sounion. At sunset the view from the temple, which is situated at a cliff, is spectacular.
Day 3: Refreshing dive in the water before breakfast. Today we set sail to the island Kea, it has a few bays where we can anchor and on top of this island is the picturesque town of Kea.
Day 4: After breakfast we set sail to the island Kithnos. On the west side there is bay with an interesting sand bar for swimming and great pictures. We can take a hike up to top of the island were the white chora (town) lies. And on the East side there is an ancient Greek/Roman mineral spring which is interesting to visit.
Day 5: Siros is an island that in the 18th and 19th century was the commercial and cultural centre in the Aegean trade route. Today Siros port is still the capital of the Cyclades. We can hike around the village and restock. At the end of the day we could go to a secluded bay at the south side of the island and overnight.
Day6: Naxos being the biggest island in the Cyclades is also the most fertile. The landscape includes meadows running down to vast white beaches, cliffs that sink suddenly into the sea, rocky mountains nestled side-by-side with valleys filled with meandering streams and springs. Vineyards and olive trees wind down the mountains to the crystal clear sea and its superb white sandy beaches, much frequented by nudist.
The town has the typical whitewashed houses on a hill. At the South side of the island are a few smaller islands with numerous of secluded bays.
Day 7: Mykonos has many bays with beaches and a lively (gay) village. We can drop anchor in one of the bays for a swim to the beach and later in the afternoon sail into the harbour of Mykonos town.
Day 8: Opposite Mykonos is the island of Delos the centre of the world 200BC the extensive ruins are worth to visit. In the afternoon we sail back to Mykonos to welcome our guests that join for the second week.
Day 9:
Paros a popular tourist island with sandy beaches, clear blue water, traditional houses, stunning landscape and excellent dive sites.
