The claim “paradise” is not new. Travel brochures claim every corner of the globe is paradise. Estate agents describe every condo complex no matter where it is built as paradise. Paradise seems to be an internalized idea and everyone has their own concept. Perhaps your ideal paradise is:

Enjoying a beach with a mile of identical beach chairs and umbrellas with vendors bringing you drinks.

Shopping in a big clean city with great restaurants, a fast and loose night life, and spotless sidewalks.

Waking up and going for a morning kayak across the waters to listen to morning bird calls.

Feeling the heat of molten lava and experiencing mother nature in her raw form.

Swimming in the oceans surrounded by colorful coral and schools of fish.

Feeling the power of the breeze driving a sailboat fast across the waters.

Eating the freshest and most exotic foods prepared by a local chef.

Having a whale come up to you so it can look at you closer.

Sleeping in a hammock on the beach after a good party.

Watching dolphins frolic at a sailing vessel's bow.

Walking in a rain forest or climbing a mountain.

Exploring historical sites and battle grounds.

Touring ancient temples built from stone.

Gazing up at a night sky filled with stars.

Surfing where no one surfed before.

Getting that overall tan on deck.

Smelling fresh bread baking.

Traveling with friends.

Playing the piano.

Breathing.

Living.

Quiet.

In short, everyone seems to have different concept of paradise. Personally, I like to have it all. It is the reason I love traveling between Thailand and Hawaii. I've experienced the entire list already, and want to repeat it again. If you have the health, time, and ability, you can have the same experiences, and benefit from my prior knowledge. I can't promise that you will experience the entire list. My whale encounter in the open ocean will be difficult to duplicate. However, you will experience far more paradise then you have in the past.

I purchased a private sailing vessel to make these P3 trips for several reasons.

I like big long trips filled with a variety of experiences.

I like to limit moving from hotel to hotel always repacking.

I love the freedom of not having to watch a backpack every second.

I prefer most meals to be simple and healthy, preparing them in my own kitchen.

I love to be able to go to places that can't be reached by plane, car, or cruise ships..
