Gay zeilvakantie in de Dodecanese vanaf Kos
In de Dodecanese hebben we zeilvakanties van één of van twee weken. De zeil week begint altijd vanaf het eiland Kos. Tijdens de trips van twee weken zeilen we beide weken een andere route met verschillende havens, baaien en eilanden. Onze gay schipper neemt je graag mee over de Griekse zeeën.
Day 1: The journey starts in Kos. Birthplace of Hippocrates, Kos blends ancient atmosphere with modern life and is wealthy island with ideal sandy beaches.
Day 2: Today a short sail to the mountainous island Kalimnos. This sponge fishers island is blessed with marvellous beaches and caves in an unspoiled scenery. There is much to explore on this island, the monastery, Byzantine museum, churches and thermal springs.
Day 3: Just a few miles North lays Leros, an island with rolling green hills and deep coves with pretty beaches. Beautiful white housed villages lay in the fertile valleys. There are three villages were we can dock or we can anchor in one of the deep coves.
Day 4: Three volcanic lumps joined by narrow isthmuses form the island Patmos. Lovely beaches and numerous natural bays create a variety of great anchorages. But the highlight of this island is the Monastry of St John, this majestic fortress crowns the hills above the port.
Day 5: Towards the East of Patmos lay a few smaller islands which are well worth visiting. Lipsi and Agothonisi are idyllic islands with hardly any tourism and a number of secluded bays, sandy beaches with translucent water.
Day 6: Today a lovely sail downwind to the small island of Pserimos, inhabited by a few fishermen. The hamlet with gleaming whitewashed houses has clear water and a pretty beach.
Day 7: On our sail to Telendos we can stop for groceries at port Kalimnos. Telendos is a craggy lump and offers good shelter for an overnight stay.
Day 8: In the afternoon we sail back to Kos, and welcome our guests than join us for the second week.
Day 9: The second week we make a little detour on our journey and stop in Turkey. On a Turkisch pennisula between Kos and Rhodos lies a very small village Palamut. The harbour has room for a few boats.
Day 10: Downwind sailing today, from seaward Simi is a barren precipitous island. The identations in the coast line provide numerous great anchorages. The main port lays in a great natural harbour surrounded by venetian style houses.
Day 11: After a nice long reach we arrive at Chalki, which lies on the West side of Rhodos. The village on the slopes around the bay is attractive and has a lively boulevard.
Day 12: Beating against the wind today on our the tack to Tilos, this small island is called the jewel of the Dodecanesos, the nature is breathtaking. We drop anchor in front of the beach.
Day 13: Approaching this massive volcano is impressive. The dark and picturesque island is contrasted by the whiteness of it houses and the bright colours of their doors and windows. A hike to the top of the crater, which is 2 1/2 miles across, gives you a spectacular view of the surrounding sea and islands.
Day 14: A last dive into the warm and crystal clear water, a prefect lunch on board and a nice leisurely sail while we approach to the final destination Kos.
Day 15: Time to say goodbye to crew and the skipper.
